I first thought it might be paused and was waiting for an okay or read but none of this seems to work. Run it with -x for help. It is a SainSmart board and works fine once the initial handshake is made, whatever that is. I just can’t figure out what setting is being made once I open the manufacturer’s control program that allows LabVIEW to communicate. The driver is no longer marked experimental because many people have used it and it seems to behave as expected. It is catalogue number XH

FTDI SIO, 8UAM and Linux USB Serial Converter Driver
It just seems strange that I can ping the chip but not get it to send signals to the relay board. I am using USB, possibly this is the where the problem is at. The original device I have is called the USC I don’t even have to operate any relays with their program, only use it to open the board one time and then close the program.

I know that I am connected to the board because I can get the device details but it will not accept my write command until I first use their program to connect to the board. I haven’t tested this myself so I reproduce Kuba’s documentation slightly edited he added to the patch below: The driver is included.

Does a known way to protect the content of this eeprom against re-writing exist? Baud rate setting and reading if the device is open by multiple processes the baudrate read results are undefined.
I can connect, get a handle, get ftdii device details serial number, etcget the modem and queue status, etc. Please see the driver source for details or the description below.

Use the most up to date linux kernel. I only ever use 2. Bugs None known at the moment.
Run it with -x for help. Every so often I will update this webpage though. Ian Abbot for helping people out all the time on the ftdi list and still paying attention to this driver. Be sure to read the list of supported ioctls above to figure out what will work with the driver.
